Award Nomination - Mentorship Excellence Award

Purpose: To recognize an individual who has made a meaningful impact on the development of others in the emergency management profession through formal or informal mentorship within the past one to three years. 

Eligibility: Nominees may include any emergency management professional or partner who demonstrates a strong commitment to mentoring emerging professionals by supporting their growth, leadership development, and professional engagement.

    Criteria for Consideration: Nominees demonstrate measurable or clearly described positive impacts on mentees’ careers, skills, confidence, or advancement, while also being approachable, supportive, and willing to invest time and effort into others.

    Consideration will also be given to individuals who encourage critical thinking, professionalism, and collaboration, and who contribute to strengthening the future of the emergency management profession by helping develop the next generation of leaders. Recipient must be an active KEMA member and in good standing. 

    Selection Committee: KEMA Board and Awards Chair

    Can be nominated by any regular or life KEMA member in good standing.

    Submission Deadline

    2026 award nominations for the activity period of August 2025-June 2026 must be submitted online by 5:00 pm on July 10.
